VENTNOR Coastguard Rescue Team was called to two separate incidents last night (Saturday).
At 9.55pm, Ventnor coastguard responded to a call from a person concerned for a small vessel off of The Terrace in Chale Bay.
After investigating, and speaking to local fisherman at Atherfield, the incident proved to be a false alarm, but with good intent.
At 11.12pm, Ventnor coastguard was called to a report of a mobility scooter on the cliffs at Shepherds Chine, Atherfield.
After searching the cliff tops, nothing was seen or found, and no further action was needed.
A spokesperson for Ventnor coastguard said: "Both these calls were made with genuine concern, and the right thing was done by calling 999 and asking for coastguard."
