TRAFFIC into Newport is gridlocked this morning.
The traffic signals at Fairlee Link are not working, which has led to the emergency closure of the slip road off the dual carriageway.
Island Roads have said engineers are on route to deal with the traffic signals.
Southern Vectis Tweeted: "Traffic is gridlocked on main routes between Ryde, East Cowes and Newport. We strongly recommend allowing extra time for your trip should you be using routes 5 and 9 today.
"If you are in Ryde and wishing to travel to Newport then please consider using route 2 this morning as it is currently taking buses over an hour to get from Racecourse to Newport."
