A CHEQUE for £500 has been presented to Yarmouth RNLI by Keith Greenfield, Wightlink CEO.

The money was raised from the Wightlink charity calendar which features photographs taken by staff and submitted for the publication.

Mr Greenfield said: "The staff take photographs of our ships and shore facilities on all three of our routes: Portsmouth-Fishbourne, Lymington-Yarmouth and Portsmouth Harbour-Ryde Pier Head.

"The front cover pictures was taken by Patrick Hughes, from our IT department and it features our flagship Victoria of Wight coming out of Portsmouth.

"We asked him to represent a charity and he decided on the RNLI, so I'm delighted to present the money to the Yarmouth team."

Other views featured in the calendar included US Navy’s aircraft carrier Harry S Truman moored off Gosport, Gunwharf Quays and Camber Dock in Portsmouth and the Lymington estuary.

The cheque was presented to Yarmouth RNLI coxswain Howard Lester, Mechanic Richard Pimm, Operations Manager Jeremy Willcock and chief fundraiser Debbie Cotton.

Debbie said: "It's a fabulous gesture and we were very proud to be chosen as this year's charity."
