PARTY band Blonde Bombshell will return to perform for Mountbatten next week.

They will play the John Cheverton Centre at 7.30pm on Thursday (July 4).

It will not be the band's first Mountbatten concert.

In December, 2017, they treated the audience to a night of 1950s, '60s and '70s hits including The Beatles' Norwegian Wood, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama and a selection of Buddy Holly numbers including Peggy Sue, Heartbeat and Rave On.

They also covered songs by Johnny Cash, The Animals, Tom Jones and Elvis, closing with Don McLean's American Pie.

Tickets cost £10 on the door and include wine and canapes.

The concert, sponsored by Red Funnel, is the last in Mountbatten's current series of performances.

The programme will take a break in August and is set to return in September.

A full line-up is due to be released next month.
