ISLE of Wight emergency services were called to Beatrice Avenue this afternoon (Friday), following reports of a child being hit by a van.
Police were called at 3.15pm to the incident involving a van and a child on a scooter
A police spokesperson said: "The child did not suffer life-threatening injuries."
An Isle of Wight NHS Trust spokesperson said: “Colleagues in the ambulance service attended a road traffic collision in East Cowes this afternoon, shortly after 3pm.
"We can confirm that paramedics are no longer at the scene and that one patient, a child, was taken to hospital.”
