HUGE bottlenose dolphins, travelling with their young, were captured on video off Ventnor. Ed Blake, of Ventnor Haven Fisheries, got the incredible footage just as he was heading out of the harbour yesterday (Tuesday).

He told the County Press the dolphins were becoming an increasingly familiar sight, as they seem to be coming inshore more frequently.

The pod was up to about 40-strong and included adults, juveniles and babies.

Ed said: "It was a huge pod and they followed us for a while. We were going faster than them and they were going slowly because of the babies.

"They were bottlenose dolphins which are big animals — they can grow up to about 16ft to 18ft.

"They were all around us and it was hard to video them as they kept popping up all over the place.

"Dolphins seem to be getting a more and more common sight, which is brilliant."
