A FORMER Isle of Wight aerospace structural engineer has published his autobiography.

William T. Harris, known locally as Bill, has entitled his autobiography Always Making Something.

He will hold a book signing next Saturday (June 29), and has invited friends and former colleagues to come along.

Bill will be at Waterstones, Newport, between 10am and 3pm, to sign copies of the book, which recounts his engineering career of more than 60 years.

Bill was the former manufacturing director of Canadair Ltd and Leyland Trucks, and also the aerostructures director at Westland Aerospace in East Cowes, now GKN Aerospace.

His autobiography focuses on his life in engineering, from his apprenticeship at the Bristol Aeroplane Company to working on Concorde in in England and Challenger in Canada.

Always Making Something will be available to buy at the Waterstones book signing.
