THE Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called to a property in Carisbrooke yesterday afternoon (Friday).

The fire service was called at 4.47pm to tackle a small fire within a faulty tumble dryer.

Two fire engines ­— one from Newport and one from East Cowes ­— were sent to the property at Alvington Road, Carisbrooke.

The small fire was found to be out upon arrival ­— advice was issued to the owners.
