Emergency road closure of New Street, Newport.
AN EMERGENCY road closure has been put in place at New Street, Newport, today (Friday).
Island Roads said the closure would enable Southern Gas Networks to carry out emergency repairs.
The road closure affects New Street from its junction with Trafalgar Road to its junction with Chapel Street for a distance of 116 metres.
The diversion will affect Trafalgar Road, Carisbrooke Road and West Street.
The road closure will be in place for 21 days, or until works have been completed.
