EMERGENCY crews have this evening (Wednesday) been called to a crash in Freshwater.

An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said it was believed a car had come off the road at St Andrew's Way, near The Gouldings resource centre.

The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service requested the assistance of the fire service shortly before 5.30pm, to help stabilise the crashed vehicle.

No-one is trapped, and no other vehicles are believed to be involved.

UPDATE: An ambulance service spokesperson said a car had rolled into a pedestrian and knocked her into a fence.

No-one was in the car at the time, and it was believed the car's handbrake had failed.

The woman suffered minor injuries and has been checked over by paramedics. She may still be brought into hospital, said the spokesperson.
