STAFF from Newport company WRS Systems have pledged to climb the three highest peaks in the UK.

The Costa 3 Peaks is an annual fundraising event in which the coffee chain's employees, suppliers and friends raise money for the Costa Foundation — which supports education projects in coffee growing communities.

As the till providers for Costa on the Isle of Wight, the eight-strong team from WRS Systems are set to take on Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales.

They need to raise a minimum of £2,500 to participate — all of which will go to the foundation, match funded by Costa.

As if climbing the three peaks wasn't hard enough, the team have to complete the challenge in 48 hours.

Jake Bentley, team leader, said they had already raised half the amount at events including bake sales, a quiz night and a football match.

He has appealed to Islanders to help them raise the other half.
