Man rescued by firefighters after falling in a ditch
A MAN was rescued by the fire service after falling in a ditch.
At 1am this morning (Thursday), firefighters were called to Birchmore Lane, Blackwater, on the outskirts of Newport, following reports of a man stuck in a ditch.
A fire engine from Newport, and a fire engine from Ryde, alongside an emergency response unit were sent to the scene.
The man — understood to be stuck under his mobility scooter — was successfully freed.
