ON day three of Warwickshire's Specsavers County Championship match against Nottinghamshire, Isle of Wight-born cricketer Adam Hose hit his maiden century.

Adam made 111 from 202 balls — an innings which featured 14 fours and two sixes — out of the home side’s 391-9 declared this morning (Wednesday).

He reached his maiden ton in his 24th first-class innings with a swiped three off Matt Carter, before he fell to a catch at deep mid-wicket in pursuit of a third successive four off Samit Patel.

Adam grew up in Rookley and played for Ventnor Cricket Club, before he made the step up to Hampshire, Somerset and Warwickshire.

He also racking up the runs in the Burger King Super Smash T20 tournament in New Zealand last winter.
