WALKING DEAD cast members helped a group of Isle of Wight superfans raise £975 for a local children's charity.

Grumpy Moto, a group of four friends, made a bet with each other to build a replica of the motorcycle owned by character, Daryl Dixon on the popular TV show.

The bet turned into a reality when the group approached Simon Ellis on behalf of the Joe Ellis Trust — supporting Isle of Wight children with cancer, and their families.

Grumpy Moto discussed their idea with Simon, and said they wanted to support the charity using the motorcycle to fundraise.

The motorcycle took nine months to build, with the team paying close attention to every detail — researching building methods and sourcing parts worldwide.

The group exhibited the bike in front of 20,000 people at the Walker Stalker Con, in London earlier this year.

Cast members who heard about the project came to the event, and chatted to Grumpy Moto about the bike, whilst posing for photographs and autographing the bike's tank.

People were encouraged to have their photograph taken on the motorcycle, in exchange for donations.

Grumpy Moto raised £975 over the course of the weekend.

Simon said: "Thank you to Grumpy Moto for supporting us, we really appreciate it."

"It has been five years since we started the charity — all the money goes towards helping children with cancer on the Isle of Wight."

The Joe Ellis Trust will host its next 'Funday' event on June 1, at Arreton Barns.
