MOUNTBATTEN are asking for community support to help them prepare for Volunteers' Week.

With just a few days to go before National Volunteers' Week, Mountbatten is giving people the opportunity to decorate blank bunting with messages and drawings describing what the hospice means to them.

Shop managers will then use the decorated bunting to dress their windows during the week, which starts on June 1.

Retail operations manager at Mountbatten Kath Bright said: "Volunteers are the lifeblood of our shops, and we simply couldn’t operate without them. We are so very grateful to our committed army of shop volunteers, but we are always seeking more support.

"Hopefully, by encouraging our community to get involved, they will get a taster of just how fun and worthwhile volunteering can be."

During the week, there will also be the opportunity to learn more about other volunteering opportunities with the charity, including the new Mountbatten Neighbours project.

Drop-in sessions are being held in some of Mountbatten’s high street shops.
