A CHIHUAHUA that was cruelly shaved, and then painted red, is now in the care of the Isle of Wight Council.
The dog was found by a concerned member of the public at Carisbrooke vets on Monday, and has now been picked up by the council.
He was found at Pan Meadows.
The member of the public also reported the incident to the RSPCA.
The council are appealing for anyone who recognises the dog, or knows who it belongs to, to come forward.

The dog has now been reunited with it's owner.
