ISLE of Wight actors Cliff Dutton and Lois Temel attended the International Christian Film Festival 2019 when a film they starred in premiered.

The actors, who are both signed up to Island People Agency, both had the chance to fly to the USA to see the film The Desert River on the big screen.

Lois, who played the lead actress Linda Davids, and Cliff, who played Lt Dan Grant, walked the red carpet when the film was nominated for best screenplay.

Dadina Sagger, of Island People, said: "Many other Islanders got to be a part of this film, alongside two young boys playing the main characters' sons, Liam Finch and Rollo Little.

"Both boys had more than a week of filming around the Island and were complimented on how professional they both were. Around 11 actors from Island People Agency had small roles, and even more were extras.

"The Island locations were also used to double up as many other places from around the world, which is why so many productions come to the Island, as it is only two hours away from London.

"We thank Dr Braam Ackermann, the writer, producer and star of The Desert River, who trusted our agency to cast so many great members."

The film is about a British Naval Officer who develops PTSD and substance misuse issues after serving in The Gulf.

In an attempt to sober up and win back his wife he decides to walk along the West African shipwreck trail, where he meets an ancient Desert tribe who lead him to a special place of healing — The Desert River.
