THE IW Federation of Townswomen's Guild has a new president.

Pauline Lombardelli, chairman of the Tennyson branch which meets in Freshwater, was revealed as the new president when Tennyson TG had a day out at Chessell Pottery.

Pauline said: "Being president for the next 12 months will be a big boost to me personally and to Tennyson TG.

"It shows that the federation committee recognise that we have grown as a guild, and all the hard work we put in.

"We also support the Island Federation events and were thrilled to come joint first with Shanklin TG, winning the handicraft shield at an arts and craft event at Lake in April.”

The Tennyson Guild was formed eight years ago and Pauline has been chair for the past six years. It currently has 40 members.

They meet at Freshwater Methodist Church at 1.45pm on the first Wednesday of each month.
