A HISTORICAL romance novel written by a West Wight author has hit the top of the Amazon erotic romance charts.

Suzanne Ravelle, from Freshwater, recently finished Her Master's Slave — her first novel.

It has already made its mark, reaching number one in the hot new releases in erotic romance chart, and number two in the hot new releases ancient world historical romance chart.

Suzanne, a freelance business development executive, said: "I have written short stories before, but this was my first attempt at a novel.

"It is about a woman born into nobility and sold into slavery in ancient Rome during the reign of Emperor Nero.

"Ancient Rome is a particularly inspirational topic for plots and storylines. There is a lot more peril and adventure involved compared with modern tales.

"It is an historical romance. I never thought of it as erotic when I was writing it, but it is tastefully written.

"However, the whole concept is hot, because there is an alpha male hero and feisty female heroine."

Suzanne, who has a 10-year-old daughter, Rosy, has already started writing a sequel in what will be a series of books.
