Armed police in Sandown following reports of a man with a weapon
ARMED police attended a property in Sandown last night after reports of a man with a weapon.
Police were called at 9.15pm on Friday following concerns that there was a man with a weapon in Leed Street.
However, no offences were identified.
Hampshire and IW Police confirmed: "Specialist officers carried out enquiries in the area and spoke to a man, but no weapon was located and no offences were identified.
"The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out regular patrols in the area."
