NEW venues and 90 shows will help Ventnor Fringe celebrate ten years.

The 10th anniversary fringe will take place from July 23 to July 28 — earlier than its usual August slot.

Ventnor Park will play host to The Magpie, an intimate Big Top hosting theatre, and there will be a dedicated comedy and cabaret tent.

Some shows are already on sale, including the acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe hit Improv Shakespeare.

Featuring a cast of leading theatrical and comedic improvisers, the show brings an entirely new and unique Shakespeare play, inspired by audience suggestions with each performance.

Other highlights include Pick of the Fringe, with a showcase of some of the best new comedians performing from across the festival, hosted by two times Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Ahir Shah, who people will recognise from Live at the Apollo and The Mash Report.

There will also be Edinburgh previews from fast-rising comedians such as Chris Stokes, Glenn Moore, Grainne Maguire and Bilal Zafar.

There will be family shows, circus acts, free acts, pop-up shows, secret spaces and the return of the Puppet Pub Quiz, which is a quiz night hosted by puppets.

Festival co-director Mhairi Macaulay said: “More than 30 shows are now on sale with tickets already outselling this time last year, which is fantastic.

"Every performance will be on sale by the end of May and there really is something for everyone.

"After ten years it feels like there is a real momentum behind Ventnor Fringe now."
