CUBS, beavers and scouts will go free at The Great Wonderfest.

The family-friendly festival has teamed up with Scouts Isle of Wight to launch 'Scoutfest', and has invited scouts from across the UK to take part.

The three-day event, hosted by children’s TV presenters Dick and Dom, will take place at Duxmore Farm, at Downend Road, Newport, from August 1 to 4.

Boyband superstars Busted and The Vamps will headline, alongside Sigma, Example and Conor Maynard.

Scouts can choose a seven-day or four-day camp, with their own dedicated campsite.

Scoutfest coordinator Malcolm Cox said: "Our scouts take every opportunity to get involved with carnivals, processions, fetes and festivals across the Island.

"We're especially pleased that Dick and Dom and the team at the Great Wonderfest have asked us to run Scoutfest within their festival."

Visitors to Scoutfest can expect traditional scout activities, as well as a ‘skills for life’ programme to help scouts "develop into leaders, problem solvers and team players".

There will be campfire sessions and campsite sing-alongs with special guests on the main stage.

There will be a service to help festival goers carry their kit to the campsites.

Festival host, Dick said: "I used to be a cub and a scout so I know how important it can be to learn about the great outdoors."
