SOUTHERN Water will try to find the source of the water leaks on Staplers Road, with specialists going to listen to the pipes at night.

The road has already seen three-months of travel disruption this year, and was closed with Southern Water and Clancy Docwra replaced 500 metres of ageing water mains.

However, the work was not finished on time and the road could be closed again in the autumn.

Since then, water has been spotted on the road, but the company said the source was not obvious.

A Southern Water spokesman said: "Samples are currently being tested to see if it comes from one of our water pipes and leak technicians will be going out at night to listen to the pipes for the audible clues of a burst when traffic noise is low."
