MUSICIANS and superheroes were among those who enjoyed a Gin and Ale Festival over the bank holiday weekend.

Ariel and Captain America dropped in on the family fun weekend at the Crown Inn, Shorwell.

There was plenty of entertainment for all, with the children amazed by BJ the magician. There was also a bouncy castle and facepainting.

There was music throughout the weekend with a variety of top Island acts including Ollie Ducie, Mark Cook, The Outfit, Usual Suspects, Grizzled Skipper and Jules Nelson.

Landlady Jenna Jackson said: "It was a fabulous weekend. The weather held up for us, so there were plenty of people in our garden and, as well as all the entertainment, the children were able to watch and feed the ducks in our stream.

"The magician was fantastic and we had some great musical entertainment which had everyone on their feet."
