TIME is running out for sailors from around the world wishing to enter the famous Round the Island Race.

A record entry of 737 boats signed up to the iconic sailing event around the Isle of Wight within the first 24 hours of opening.

The race, which normally attracts more than 1,500 boats, organised by the Island Sailing Club, is on Saturday, June 29.

Popular with families, first time racers and professional sailors alike, the race will start from Cowes at 7.30am.

There will be around 200 prizes up for grabs for boats of every shape and size, competing to win individual class and overall trophies.
