A MAN had to be cut free from his car after a crash on Calbourne Road this evening (Monday).
The single vehicle collision involved a car crashing into a tree, a fire and rescue service spokesperson said.
Fire crews from Cowes and Yarmouth were called out alongside Newport Fire Station's heavy rescue vehicle.
The occupant of the car was extricated by firefighters and handed over to the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Emergency services were called at 9.25pm.
