THE Apollo Players continue their season with their latest production, a black comedy by one of the country's finest comedy writers.

Best known for his television work, including the superlative Leonard Rossiter sitcom, Rising Damp, Eric Chappell also wrote the Newport theatre group's new show, Natural Causes.

The play presents the audience with an unusual situation — Vincent is a professional poisoner who has been summoned to the home of Celia and Walter Bryce.

He mistakenly assumes Walter is to be the victim, only to discover that Celia is the real client. Or is she?

What is the significance of the travel brochure advertising holidays in Montego Bay?

And who, if anyone, will the real victim be? The husband, the wife or the secretary? Or even the unfortunate pot plant?

Natural Causes starts next Friday, May 17, and runs until Saturday, May 25.

Performances will not be held on Sunday or Monday.

Tickets are available from the Apollo Theatre box office, by calling on 210010, or online at
