FOUR Isle of Wight-born brothers have the rare distinction of playing a senior football match together for the first time.

Mulholland brothers Sonny, 16, of Chale and who attended the Island Free School, Ventnor, played at left back, while Finley, a labourer, also of Chale, was in centre midfield.

Harry, who works for Biffa on the Island and lives in Ventnor, also played in midfield and scored one of the goals, while Liam, a roofer, of Newport, played at centre back, but can also play in midfield.

Finley, Harry and Liam all attended the former Medina High School.

Their father, Mark, Ventnor’s first team boss, was proud to watch his sons play together competitively for the first time.

He said: “It was amazing, especially as you never know when they are growing up if they would like and play football.”
