WOLVERTON Folk and Blues Fair is returning for the ninth year to the stunning grounds of Wolverton Manor, Shorwell.

The fair will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 11.30am to 8pm.

The family-friendly festival has been gaining momentum since its launch in 2011, with fantastic bands/artists each year along with locally produced food, children's activities, tea tent and the real ale tent.

Alongside some of the Island’s top folk and blues bands, special guest artists this year include The Producers, The Trials of Cato, The Goat Roper Rodeo Band and Grizzly and The Grasshoppers.

Other bands/artists confirmed include The MoonShiners, Holly Kirby and the Great Outdoors, The Dance Preachers, Second Time Around, Coppersmith, Andy Roberts, The RUG Band, Red Sqwrl, The Bluesbury Group, Paul Armfield, Cajundaze, The Brighstone Barnacles and Moonshine Border Morris.

As well as the main stage, the popular 'Beer Tent Acoustic Stage' will make a return this year, providing a full and varied programme.

With an IW real ale beer tent, tea tent, barbecue, children’s activities, craft stalls, circus skills and morris dancing, there will be plenty to see and do at The Wolverton Folk and Blues Fair.

The fair is in aid of Leukaemia Research and Brighstone School.

Tickets are £8 (£10 on day). Children under 12 go free.

Advance tickets are available from Waterstones Bookshop, Newport, The Village Shop, Brighstone, Briddlesford Lodge Farm Shop, Wootton Bridge, Brighstone School and Shorwell Shop.
