A VEGAN ice cream company has launched on the Isle of Wight.

Launched by Tom Thornton and Molly Rolf, The Tub Trike is a new vintage-style freezer tricycle selling ice cream tubs.

The Tub Trike launched at an Easter Fair at St John's Church, Newport and is now available for hire for weddings and other events.

Molly and Tom said: "We sell only vegan ice cream, out of respect for animals and the planet.

"We offer six flavours of ice cream produced on the Isle of Wight, and the new vegan magnum by Wall's.

"We had a fantastic and productive time meeting new customers at the Easter Fair, especially enjoying people's reactions to their first ever delicious dairy-free ice cream.

"We hope to make people realise that they can make small changes that make a big difference to the world.

"Animal agriculture is responsible for up to 91 per cent of the Amazon destruction (World Bank, 2003).

"Animal agriculture is responsible for 18 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions, more than the combined exhaust from all transportation (United Nations, 2006).

"Already, our vintage look has drawn compliments from people, whether or not they remember the original 'stop me and buy one' ice cream bikes.

"We are so excited for the coming summer of delivering tasty, refreshing cold treats to events on the Island."
