MORE than £300 was raised at a coffee morning organised by the Brighstone Primary School Association to help send their pupils on day trips throughout the year.

The coffee morning, at Shorwell Village Hall, included a raffle and £1 'lucky jars' made up of random items.

Organiser Jackie Sothcott said: "We had around 150 of these jars which were filled with party goods including balloons and sweets.

"We sold around 70 of them and dropped the rest into the Crown Inn, Shorwell. They said they would help us sell them.

"So far, we have raised £315 but this will rise. It total we collected around £3,000 over the year to help send our children of all ages on their days out with the school."
