A DINOSAUR themed adventure golf course has roared into town this Easter.

The huge Jurassic themed attraction, complete with gigantic dinosaurs, is now open at Sandham Gardens.

Dino Islands: A Golf Adventure, is one of the biggest and most immersive golf attractions of its kind in the UK with life-size dinosaurs looming around the 18-hole course.

Engaging players in a prehistoric family adventure, the new multi-level course is more than 2,000sqm in size, with themed pathways and 18 individually designed holes winding around a huge smoking volcano and 3m-high waterfall.

Additionally there are boulders, ponds, bridges and life-size dinosaurs looming out of thick vegetation.

The attraction is priced at £6.50 per adult and £5 per child.

It is the latest large-scale development for Sandham Gardens, following the addition of Sandham Karts last summer.

Christian Zanti, operations manager, said: "I'm thrilled to announce the opening in time for Easter weekend and the springtime influx of holidaymakers to the Island.

"This new course really complements our existing go karting attraction and provides a fully-immersive experience for families visiting Sandown."

Marino Zanti, of Heritage Attractions Ltd, which has a 50-year lease with Sandown Town Council to develop Sandham Gardens, said: "Designed and constructed by Rockart UK, international specialists and market leader in adventure golf design and construction, this development is the attraction the IW deserves.

"We see it as vital for the regeneration of Sandown. We believe it will give a serious boost to the number of visitors coming to the area."

Heritage Attractions Ltd also owns The Needles: Landmark Attraction. It has further plans for Sandham Gardens from 2020 onwards.
