CHARITIES and community groups have been urged to apply for funding from the Isle of Wight Foundation — and the deadline is fast approaching.

Over the last five years, more than 40 projects aimed at tackling social exclusion have received £400,000 from the foundation, the charitable arm of Island Roads.

Todd Miller, general manager of the Waterside Community Trust, said: “We received funding to purchase a new poolside hoist for our disabled swimmers.

"I would encourage any groups or charities who think they could be eligible to not miss out and to get their applications in before the deadline.”

Grant applications are due by May 1.
