POLICE were called out to Lake Cliff Gardens where a man was on the wrong side of railings at a cliff edge this morning (Tuesday).

Police called for coastguard support and Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams were paged, but were stood down before arrival on scene.

Officers cleared the area of the public gardens while they talked to the man concerned.
