DO YOU fancy a luncheon with Louis de Berniéres, author of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin?

The prize-winning English novelist and poet will be the guest speaker at a fundraising luncheon hosted by the trustees of the Red Funnel Isle of Wight Literary Festival at the Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes.

His body of work includes novels, short stories and poetry on a wide range of subjects inspired by places he has lived and historical events.

After the luncheon, Mr de Berniéres will be signing copies of his books for guests.

The event takes place on May 5 and tickets are still available.

The bestselling children’s author and illustrator Nicholas Allan, who is patron of the IW Literary Festival’s youth programme, will also be attending the event.

Tickets are £55 per person for a three-course lunch, glass of wine, tea or coffee.

All profits will go to support this year's festival.
