HUNDREDS of revellers descended on Ryde to enjoy a day of live music and dancing for the Isle of Wight March of the Mods.

The event, held across multiple venues, raised around £4,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and organisers are hoping to have that figure match funded, bringing the total to £8,000.

All of the money gets channelled to the ward at Southampton General Hospital where Island teenagers with cancer are cared for.

All the artists performing gave up their time free of charge to help the charity event.

Organiser Steve Robson said: "It was a fantastic day.

"Considering we started at 1pm, everyone was still jumping up and down at 1am — it was a feat of endurance.

"The atmosphere was great. Everyone was in a good mood and there were people of all ages, including children in the day, which made it a nice family event.

"The weather was amazing, really sunny, which helped bring the crowds out. It really couldn't have gone any better."
