ROYAL Navy bomb disposal experts, alongside HM Coastguard, have been called to Totland Bay this afternoon (Sunday).
The teams are investigating an item spotted yesterday afternoon that could be an explosive device.
They haven't been able to access the item until now because of tide movements, a coastguard spokesperson said.
