HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for brain tumour research when a coffee morning was held in memory of Isle of Wight teenager, Alayna Morris.

Alayna, of Castle Street, Carisbrooke, lost her battle with brain cancer last November, aged just 18, but her family and friends organised a Big Bandana Bake and raised over £700 for the Brain Tumour Charity.

The cash was raised from sales of cake, a raffle and a sweepstake. Alayna's mum, Jan, and her friend, Sarah Abraham, organised the event, which proved hugely popular.
