THE FASHION world is reflecting on Alexander McQueen in what would have been his 50th birthday year.

There is a chance to find out more about the great designer, when Ventnor Arts Club presents Celebrating Alexander McQueen.

The club is delighted to welcome freelance photographer Gary Wallis of Wallis Pictures to present a talk about his professional association with the iconic fashion designer.

He will also talk about his book, which features archive material shot backstage during the early shows.

Gary's work focuses on fashion and portraiture, and has been featured in many international publications and other media.

Following the talk and an accompanying short piece of film, the venue will screen the documentary film McQueen, which is a personal look at the designer's life, career and artistry.

The event is on at 7pm on Thursday, April 25.

Booking is essential. Club members go free, and non-members are £5.

Wendy Barton, of Ventnor Arts Club, said: "We are really looking forward to hosting this evening. Our recent Fashion Week themed screenings proved very popular and I think this will be too."
