Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team has been called out to check on a yacht that has runa aground on Ryde Sands this afternoon (Monday).
A YACHT has run aground on Ryde Sands this afternoon (Monday).
HM Coastguard was called at 1pm after the yacht got caught out by a low tide.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team has been called out to check on the occupants of the yacht.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said that the sailor will have to drop anchor and wait for the tide to rise so that the yacht can be refloated.
High tide is not until around 9.30pm, so the yacht will be stuck for a few hours yet.
