A MUSICAL evening of unaccompanied singing in barbershop and choral styles will be performed by local choirs and quartets.

Male barbershop chorus Wight Harmony is hosting A Cappella Showcase IV at St Mary's Church in Cowes on Saturday, March 23.

The evening starts at 7.30pm and will feature choirs Wight Harmony, Wight Satin, Camerata Chamber Choir, and Portsmouth's Solent City Chorus. All four choirs have been competing this month at the IW Drama, Dance and Music Festival, with many winning performances.

There will be two Island barbershop quartets — Quaynote, who have been singing together for seven years, and Part Exchange, a new quartet.

There will also be a special appearance from a local school choir.

Tickets are £5 per adult on the door, and young people age 18 and under go free.
