PROJECT:OPERA is hosting an afternoon programme of uplifting arias from opera and musicals, titled Bird Song.

Soprano Annalisa Vaughan and pianist Steve Parker will present the event, which will explore the lighter aspects of the human voice through coloratura arias, such as Offenbach's Doll's Song and Strauss' Laughing Song, as well as heart-warming renditions of Song to the Moon and Vissi d'arte.

Taking place on Sunday, March 31, at 4pm, at Ryde Methodist Church, the event promises to be an inspiring afternoon concert with homemade cakes and tea served during the interval.

Tickets are £12, concessions £8, and children go free.

Project:Opera is also hosting Mozart's Requiem at Newport Minster on Saturday, April 13, and at Holy Trinity Church, Bembridge, on Sunday, April 14, both at 7pm.

Project:Opera's soloists and musical director Steve Parker will lead members of local choirs in a workshop and two performances of Mozart's final and most powerful work.

Tickets are £15, concessions £10, and children under 12 go free.
