Firefighters called out to kitchen fire in Ryde (Image: Contributed)
FIREFIGHTERS were called out early this morning (Tuesday) to a kitchen fire in Ryde.
Crews from Ryde and Newport were called to Melville Street at 5.21am.
It was discovered that the fire had been caused by a box left on the stove.
The fire was extinguished by the resident before firefighters arrived on scene.
