A YOUNG man was given his 'last chance' when he appeared before a judge today (Friday).

Harry Simmonds, 19, of Chale Green, Ventnor, admitted two counts of malicious communication at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.

Elizabeth Bussey-Jones, prosecuting, said Simmonds had sent inappropriate and distressing images to two teenage girls on two separate occasions.

The first charge, which involved an image of his penis, occurred between September 30, 2018 and October 10, 2018.

Between December 13 and December 17 of last year, Simmonds sent further inappropriate images to a second teenage girl, the court heard.

For Simmonds, David Richards said the defendant had endured a troubled childhood which had led to such behaviour.

Judge Hill described Simmonds as a profoundly confused young man.

Sentencing the defendant a community order of 18 months, Judge Hill said: "This is your last chance. Behave like this again and it will be much more serious."
