A TRIBUTE to the acclaimed jazz musician and actor Dudley Moore is coming to Apollo Theatre.

Performed by the Chris Ingham Quartet, the tribute event is hosted by Newport Jazz Club on Sunday, March 17, at 3pm.

Back in the 1960s, a staple part of Saturday night television viewing was 'Not Only... But Also' starring Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore.

Dudley went on to forge a successful acting career in Hollywood, but many people forget that he was a talented pianist and that he released several critically acclaimed jazz albums under the name of the Dudley Moore Trio.

Dudley was heavily influenced by both Oscar Peterson and Erroll Garner.

Pianist Chris Ingham is a graduate of Warwick University and alongside his performing activities he also composes soundtracks, writes reviews and works as a freelance producer and arranger.

Chris will be supported by Paul Higgs on trumpet, George Double on drums and Marianne Windham on bass.

The Dudley Moore tribute is described by Jazz Journal as "an intimate and affectionate tribute that’s very Moore-ish indeed".

Tickets can be reserved by telephoning 730601 or Bill Wills on 523879.
