HE WILL be remembered as one of the most energetic headliners to grace the Isle of Wight Festival stage.

The Prodigy's iconic frontman Keith Flint has died at the age of 49.

The Prodigy headlined the Isle of Wight Festival three times, in 2006, 2009 and 2015, and were known for their electrifying dance music, and tracks such as Firestarter and Smack Your B**** Up.

The singer was known for his outlandish hairstyle and his stage presence, and the band hit the headlines in the 1990s for being banned by the BBC.

The Isle of Wight Festival team today tweeted: "RIP Keith Flint of @the_prodigy. Thoughts go out to his friends and family. A very sad day for music. Thanks for the memories."
