A YELLOW weather warning has been issued by the Isle of Wight Met Service for fog.

Reduced visibility and dense patches are predicted from 10pm tonight (Thursday) to 1pm tomorrow afternoon.

Forecasters for the Isle of Wight Met Service said: "Fog patches will develop overnight and these will become widespread and dense in places which will reduce visibility significantly in some locations as the night goes on.

"As we move into tomorrow (Friday) morning the fog is likely to dissipate across more central, western and northern parts of the Island but the risk will continue for a while longer in the east and south of the Island, including the eastern Solent.

"As we move into the afternoon the fog may well lift into low cloud with locations further west and north seeing clearer spells.

"Travel disruptions are likely in some places, which includes cross Solent travel."
