HOW many of these famous Georges can you name?

The eye-catching 'King George' celebrity portraits adorn the foyer at the George Hotel in Yarmouth, which has been recently redecorated.

Acorn Interiors, the Isle of Wight company appointed to carry out the work, has also rebuilt the reception desk made from the original 1846 joists from Golden Hill Fort.

The company has also donated £400 to the Yarmouth Harbour Pier's Tale Project, to thank harbourmaster Tim Adams for letting its staff park in The Square while they were working at the hotel.

Tim was presented with a cheque this week from Alan Short and Simon Hirst, who run Acorn Interiors, and Tanya Lippuner, of TML Creative Interior Design, who is helping with the renovation project.

"We have completed phase one of the project and will be starting on phase two shortly. This will involve the outside spaces of the hotel and some more areas within the hotel," said Alan.

"There will be five phases over time so there is still a lot to do."

The George has been taken over on a three-year lease, with an option to buy, by entrepreneur Howard Spooner — a celebrity nightclub boss and friend of the royals.
