THE ISLE of Wight Festival has been shortlisted for a national award in the music industry.

The iconic music festival is nominated alongside Reading and Leeds, Download and Wireless for Music Week's Festival of the Year.

In 2018, headliners Liam Gallagher, Kasabian and The Killers helped sell out crowds celebrate 50 years since the festival began.

BBC Radio 2 presenter, Jo Whiley, will host the awards ceremony at Battersea Evolution on May 9.

This year's festival will see George Ezra, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Biffy Clyro headline at Seaclose Park from June 14 to June 16.
