FIREFIGHTERS were called out this morning (Tuesday) to a fire at the New Inn, Shalfleet.
A single crew from Newport fire station were called to the scene at 10.50am after reports of a fire in the pub's chimney.
Firefighters carried out an inspection of the loft space in the building, after fears the fire had spread beyond the chimney, a fire and rescue service spokesperson said.
The crew used specialist chimney tools to tackle the fire and had finished up by 12.49pm.
